DIRECTOR // WRITER

Luke is a film director and screenwriter of English and Chinese heritage with an affinity for crafting intimate stories that grapple with identity, ambition and truth. These often explore the machinations of specific worlds and systems - from football youth academies to a rural French bakeries or a beach resort karaoke scene. Luke is drawn to using genre as an entry point for creating restrained, character-driven stories, blending earnest performances with charming humour and a bittersweet tone, captured through naturalistic, observational cinematography. He has won awards internationally and his short film Academy Boy (2024) was selected by an Academy Award® and BAFTA-qualifying festival.

Luke is currently in development on the feature length version of Academy Boy and is working on several other feature film and drama series.
